You’re wondering if you should even be here.
Maybe you’ve had a thought in the back of your mind that you need some extra help, but you’re not so sure. You’ve spent sleepless nights talking with ChatGPT about what you’re going through, watching YouTube videos about how to feel better, or listening to podcasts by wellness experts. But you’ve gotten about as far as you can on your own. You may have even had a friend or loved one recommend trying therapy.
Still, you think, you’re just a regular person—we all struggle sometimes. It’s normal to feel this way, right?
Or maybe you know exactly how bad it is. But the last thing you want is to sit across from someone who's going to look uncomfortable, or worse, be scared away. You know you’re beyond “just thinking positive,” but you can’t imagine someone being able to handle what you’re going through.
MAYBE YOU’RE…
-
You’re still showing up to work and being there for the people you care about, but it’s starting to get exhausting and you don’t know how much longer you can keep going. Now that you think about it, you can't remember the last time you did something for yourself without feeling guilty about it.
-
You find yourself spending more time alone in your room because it’s the only place you don’t have to pretend you’re okay. When your parents knock on the door or force you to come to the dinner table, you don’t know what to say because they just don’t understand what you’re going through.
-
Something really hard happened—your spouse got a diagnosis, your marriage fell apart, your parent’s health is declining, or you were laid off or retired. The life you had six months ago doesn't exist anymore, and you're still trying to show up and going through the motions, but you feel disconnected from everything, including yourself.
-
Behaviors like staying busy and having a drink to take the edge off don’t help you function like they used to, and now getting through the day feels impossible. The feelings of frustration or stress you used to keep in check are creeping in, affecting your relationships and your daily life.
-
You have urges to self-harm, anger you can’t put a cap on, or emotional extremes that give you whiplash. You’re scaring yourself, but you’re also afraid to tell anyone else about it because you don’t want to scare them too. Maybe you know you need help, but you can’t imagine saying these things out loud.
-
You’re watching your teen isolate in their bedroom, noticing mood changes or self-harm, and getting stuck in the same argument every time you try to talk about it. You’re desperate to help because you still see the wonderful kid they used to be, but they just won’t let you in.
Whoever you are and whatever you’re going through, you’re allowed to ask for help.
you’re allowed to ask for help
HI, I’M AIMEE
Nothing you’re experiencing is too big or too small to benefit from our work together.
I'm not here to just tell you what to do. This is your time, your money, your energy, and your session, so I let you lead the way.
At the start of our sessions, I'll ask you what you want to do. We can sit and talk, go for a walk around the building, or pull out art supplies for some creative expression. If I suggest an exercise and it's not working for you, I want to know that.
How we spend our time should feel useful to you, and if it stops feeling that way, we'll change it.
I spent years working in a psychiatric hospital and in community mental health before I started my own practice, and there is literally nothing you can bring into this room that I haven't sat with before. You're not going to overwhelm me.
You don't have to know the right words, or use any words at all. We'll go at your pace, and I'll be honest with you along the way.
MY SPECIALTIES
-
You've spent most of your life handling things by staying busy, keeping it to yourself, and pushing through. And it worked, until it didn't. If the frustration or anxiety you used to keep in check is starting to affect your relationships, your sleep, your health, or how you show up at home, therapy can help you figure out what's going on underneath and give you something that actually works.
-
Maybe you're still going to work and getting through your day, but nothing feels good anymore and you've started to wonder if it ever will again. Or maybe you can’t get out of bed most mornings. Depression can look like a lot of different things for different people. We’ll talk about your experience and determine a path forward that’s right for you and your symptoms.
-
If you're a teen, this is a place where you don't have to sit on a couch and talk if that's not how you work best. We can make art, go for a walk, or just talk, and you get to pick what we do. If you're a parent watching your kid pull away, struggling to get through to them, and stuck in the same fight on repeat, this is a place where they'll be heard. Confidentiality is important, but you'll be kept in the loop when safety is a concern.
HOW TO GET STARTED
Your life can feel better—and it starts with reaching out.
01
We Talk
Just fill out a simple contact form. We'll meet for a free 15-minute call. You tell me what's going on. Whatever you’re experiencing, it’s valid and I want to hear about it so we can determine whether this is the right fit.
02
We do things your way
I’m here to guide you. You decide what we work on and how we do it. If something I suggest isn't working for you, you tell me and we try something else. This is your time and your journey, and I fully respect that.
03
Life starts to feel different
You're kinder to yourself than you used to be. You start making changes in your life for the better—because you finally understand yourself well enough to know what needs to be reworked.
